What is going on with the Sharn Deneith and the Dreaming Dark, then?
What about Shirin’s plan to directly assassinate sitting world leaders and directly claim the throne at Thronehold?
These are player-facing articles, and thus I’ve chosen not to commit to things that players shouldn’t know about; beyond that, it’s ultimately up to the DM to decide what canon to use. So in the case of Sharn, the History section states “With that in mind, some people say there’s something strange about the Deneith enclave in Sharn; if you want to know more, check out Sharn: City of Towers.” This article establishes the exploration of psionics by the Sharn enclave; it’s up to the DM to decide if that study has a sinister origin. Likewise, regarding Shirin, that same section says “The Lord Commander of the Blademarks, Shirin Ravan d’Deneith, has such dreams. A recent convert to the Seeker faith, Shirin has been making contacts within the Order of the Emerald Claw and talking with Karrnathi warlords frustrated by Kaius III’s pursuit of peace; he may also be in contact with the Blades of Karrn in Stormreach, or Zorlan d’Cannith. Ultimately it’s up to the DM to decide if Shirin has enough support to actually move against Baron Brevan, or if his ambitions are far from being realized. A second question is whether Shirin envisions himself to be a second Karrn the Conqueror, establishing a resurgent Karrnath—or if his dream is to rally the Houses behind him in an echo of the War of the Mark, creating a realm governed by the Twelve.“
Is the fact that Halas’ mother was a Wyrn a reason why she opposed killing aberrant marks? I could honestly see many Wyrn work for the Aberrants during the War of the Mark!
Funny how House Deneith kept its darker line, while Vadalis for example killed the Seryans!

It is.

The two are very different, though. Remember that the Three Faces of War were an integral part of the house, and the Three Faces specifically acknowledge Dol Azur and that there is a time and place for cunning in war. The Ravan never hid their affinity for Dol Azur. By contrast, the Seryans were creating “beasts possessed by fiends, and possibly humans transformed into aberrations”; what was found in Longburn was so horrifying that it was excised from history and the tunnels of the enclave were filled with quickstone. The Ravan shared a common tradition with the other Sentinel houses, even if they favored the darker Sovereign; the Seryans took a path that horrified their cousins.
